1) Don’t continuously tell him how great you think his best friend is.
As a matter of fact, don’t tell him how gorgeous you think Denzel Washington is, how impressed you are by Bill Gate’s wealth, or how much you dream of having Schwarzenegger’s tree trunk arms wrapped around you. Men don’t like to be compared to other men whether they know them or not and especially if that comparison reminds them how much they don’t measure up. Men are sensitive creatures (really) who need their egos stroked so when you are with him, concentrate on his great attributes and pretend there are no other men on the planet.
2) Don’t wear the kind of makeup that will rub off on his shirt.
You’ll want to give him a hug at the end of the evening if things go well, maybe even a smooch. And while he will appreciate that he won’t be happy about scrubbing your foundation off his the new shirt he bought for your date – especially since he’s probably already planned on wearing that shirt a half-dozen more times before sending it to the cleaners. Makeup left on his clothes makes him think you are messy and probably not a good housekeeper. Even if both those things are true, no need to let him know on the first (or second or third) date.
3) Don’t act like his mother!
Don't do the kinds of things that will get him thinking of you the way that he thinks of his mother like insisting he take his vitamins or ironing his slacks for him, at least not in the beginning.
